RE: STUCK IN SAND @ CORPUS CHRISTI, PADRE ISLAND
Yipes, that brings back memories of me, last November at Dumont Dunes!!! We tried digging, wood, jacks - ended up with a call to the wrecker as well!! Lesson learned.

RE: Do you use your washing/dryer machine?
We don't use ours often, as many of our trips are short (2 to 4 days) but on longer trips, it has come in very handy, and we both agree that while it takes up possible storage space, we wouldn't want a coach without one.
Kinda like that outdoor entertainment center! lol
RE: Looks Like Another SCAM to Me
lol yup that's the old.................. (I represent the buyer and he has a bank check made out for more than the asking price, please send the overage back immediately as he needs the funds for his daughters birthday party), scam
no further contact is necessary!!
RE: audiophiles, electronics experts, opinion please
I'm in the audio business (music end) and would add, regarding speakers, don't buy the name, go and listen and buy what your ears like. I too am not a huge Bose fan.
Adding a sub will allow your main speakers to work a little less hard, as it's bass that consumes the most power and moves the most air.
Daveinet hit it on the head with the 'too little power is very bad' statement.
Anytime the amplifier clips (reaches max wattage output) it sends out square waves which can burn up a voice coil very quickly.
More power = clean sound with the headroom for transients

RE: Calling all Revolution drivers
We love ours but I'm a lousy person to do a comparison on DPs as this is the only one we've had (I've driven). We had a gasser PA before and the difference is night and day.
I didn't realize just how comfortable and easy is was to drive until I drove from Moab, Utah to LA in one 13 hour stint and arrived feeling rested and ready to go!! My son even made me a sandwich while I was driving.
A tag axle coach will track a little straighter and cross winds will have a lesser effect.
We recently switched from the OEM Bilsteins to the Koni FSD and the great ride got even better but I would have to write a dissertation to explain the subtle differences.
Also, more power is more better! lol
Gotta love the 15000 pound towing capacity of the Spartan!
When we win the lottery, we wanna American Eagle 45E but it will be hard to top what we now drive.

RE: air pressure changes
Re-adjust (is that a word) to the climate or area you are in!! You need that pressure for the side wall strength.
Mornings or evenings with no sun on the tires and the coach has been resting for at least several hours - check the pressure before you drive. (JMHO)
RE: Duo Therm Penguin (I need a raincoat in the bedroom)
Sorry, I can't resist....
I haven't needed a "raincoat" in the bedroom since the college days! There's always one in the crowd... Thanks to all of you that that offered ideas. It was a great help. I think a lot of humidity and having the a/c cranked up to the coldest level, caused the problem. Today I turned the thermostat up ao it wasn't so cold with the fan on high. It's been doing great all day. Thanks again, Don
Told you so!
And that is what is so great about this forum !!!
Put all our brains and experience together and we are one big, bad super computer !!

RE: Quick Weight Question
The weight is on the rear axel of your MH.
Mark
True when not towing but when towing, I would split it about 50/50 with the tow vehicle.
RE: Garmin GPS
I love our Garmins but don't get the new map every year. I usually wait 2 or 3 years, because sure as shootin', as soon as I get an update, they start a new road. lol
RE: HDTV Upgrade
It never occurred to me that I could put the frame of the tv behind the cabinet frame and get a larger picture! Duh!
Thanks!
The trick is to find a wide screen LCD (16x9) with speakers on the bottom. By doing a lot of measuring we replaced the front 27" CRT with a Sony 32" hd lcd (speakers on the bottom) and the bedroom 20" was replaced with an LG 23" hd lcd. They both fit right in the original frame and I still am able to bump my head entering the coach - sometimes! :S
Better picture, less weight and less power draw. Still haven't gone to HD sat or receivers yet as we are waiting a bit longer for channels and number of sats to settle in.

RE: RVing is cheaper than car & motel, cost calculation
I look at this thread a little different and fully support the first post:
1. I already bought the RV. That's what accountants call 'SUNK' costs, and I don't even wish for that money back. It's like owning a boat, or a vacation cottage; it's there when I want it.
2. My choice now, considering #1, is to take the RV or travel by car, train or air, rent a car at destination if I didn't drive, rent motels on the way and at the destination.
3. If my choice is air, I have to plan on a 1 1/2 hour trip to the airport, then 1 1/2 hours at the airport prior to my trip, the fun of taking off my shoes, watch, keys, belt, and still making the metal detector go off, explaining to security why I have a computer and two cell phones, flight delays, time spent in getting a rental car and driving to my final destination. I have to plan on 10 - 12 hours if I fly from Houston to Atlanta with a final destination of Marietta, GA. First Class tickets are a little more pricey ($1200 to $1500), but the seat is a little larger and more comfortable. Four passengers, $5000+ plus airfare, and I refuse to rent an economy car or stay in a second-rate motel.
4. If I take the RV and drive at 60 - 65 mph, I can be to Marietta in 11 - 12 hours. The RV is 10 minutes away right now. Almost fully stocked and sits full of fuel, ready to go. No hassle. It is one minute to I-45, a major interstate. No crowds, no delays, no lines to stand in, no explaining to security, no fussing because someone is walking too slowly, no walking miles through an airport to get to my gate only to wait an hour before take-off. And if I want to take my shoes off, it is MY choice!
5. I guess my point is, if you are BUYING an RV to save travel money, then you must consider the cost of the RV, depreciation, maintenance, etc. However, if you have already own an RV, it seems more cost effective to drive the RV in most instances. And you don't have to worry about cleanliness of the linens, glassware, and toilets in your own RV (at least I hope you don't!). And if the seat is not comfortable, maybe you got the wrong RV!
6. Cheers
Bud
I agree with that logic!!
If someone decides to have a wedding in their backyard to save $$ (and because they have a nice yard) they don't factor in what it cost to buy the house.

RE: For all of the guys and gals ....
It reminded me of the Indiana Jones knife fight from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
one of the best scenes ever in a movie !!!!

RE: Where they at?
They are all down here at the beach! Lots of Cs,TC, and As. I haven't been down to Hatteras, but with all the TTs going through I'm sure that they are running full down there at Camp Hatteras and the KOA. I sold my Class C yesterday and a Class A was sold last week where I had mine parked at Camper RV and Trailer Supplies here on the beach. So there is still a market and lots of interest still in our hobby.
x2
It's nearing the end of summer vacation (for those of us who still have kids in school) and lot's of folks are already on vacation and parked where they want to be.
We are headed to the beach in the RV tomorrow !!!!! Wooo Hoooo !!!!!!

RE: 07 Revolution LE generator wont run without engine running
I shouldn't even be posting as that completely stumps me!!
I can imagine needing the engine running to start the gennie (low house batteries) but once it's running, the only thing that 'should' shut it off would be you or fuel starvation.

RE: AFE Performance Air Filters
